In our daily life, our clothes are always easily stained with various stains, which make the clothes look particularly ugly. In some special places, it is difficult to avoid stains. Therefore, the emergence of anti-fouling and easy-to-remove textiles has allowed people to find corresponding methods.

Causes of stains

The causes of stains are mainly summarized in four aspects:

(1) Pollution from floating dust during wearing

(2) Contamination from sweat and other secretions

(3) Microbial contamination

(4) Re-contamination during the washing process, etc.

Common Stains

Common clothing stains can be divided into the following four categories:

(1) Grease stains

(2) Protein stains

(3) Tannin stains

(4) Other stains

Mechanism of action of easy decontamination and finishing

Easy stain removal finishing is a process that makes the stains on the surface of the fabric easy to remove with ordinary washing methods and prevents the washed stains from returning to soil during the washing process.

During the wearing process, fabrics form stains due to the adsorption of dust and human excrement in the air as well as contamination. In particular, synthetic fibers and their blended fabrics are prone to electrostatic adsorption of stains. Due to the poor hydrophilicity of the surface, water cannot easily penetrate into the fiber gaps during washing, making stains difficult to remove. And because the surface of the fabric is lipophilic, stains suspended in the washing liquid can easily re-stain on the fiber surface, causing re-staining.

The basic principle of increasing the ease of stain removal of synthetic fibers and their blended fabrics is to use chemical methods to increase the hydrophilicity of the fiber surface and reduce the surface tension between the fiber and water. It is best that the hydrophilic layer on the surface can expand after being wetted. This generates mechanical force so that stains can leave automatically. A layer of hydrophilic polymer material is padded on the surface of the fabric. After easy decontamination finishing, the antistatic properties of the fabric can also be increased, making the fabric comfortable to wear and soft to the touch, but the tear strength of the fabric is reduced.
