Foshan’s textile industry welcomes the first Internet platform for small and medium-sized enterprises. On June 13, Foshan Chinatex Internet Platform was officially launched. The platform is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in the textile and garment industry in Foshan and aims to create an Internet platform that realizes upstream and downstream procurement, information docking and terminal sales of the industrial chain.

It is reported that the platform will start attracting investment from now on. In addition to creating a platform to help Foshan’s textile and garment industry with internal procurement and communication, more importantly, it hopes to help Foshan enterprises better enter the e-commerce market.

According to Wu Haoliang, vice president of the Foshan Textile and Garment Industry Association, Foshan’s textile and garment industry has faced difficulties in transformation and upgrading in recent years. Faced with rising prices of land, labor and other factors, some companies have moved to other places and even Southeast Asian countries. However, some companies, especially large companies, have moved to other places and even Southeast Asian countries. Enterprises develop overseas markets through cross-border e-commerce, which directly drives the entire industry’s exports to increase significantly. In 2015, it increased by 15% year-on-year, and last year it increased by 18.95%, which is much higher than the national and provincial export growth rates.

According to public data, China’s cumulative exports of textiles and clothing fell by 1.7% in 2016, with textile exports increasing by 1.9% year-on-year, clothing exports falling by 3.9% year-on-year, and Guangdong’s clothing exports falling by 3.58% year-on-year last year.

However, Wu Haoliang believes that this year’s export growth will be relatively stable and may fall back to 67%. An important reason is that the e-commerce capabilities of small and medium-sized textile and garment enterprises are very weak. “Many have not yet connected to the Internet and have no strength. Or don’t understand and have few channels.”

At the event that day, Dong Huankun, a special consultant for the “Belt and Road” joint consultation, joint construction and sharing promotion project, believed that small and medium-sized enterprises mostly look for opportunities through several large domestic comprehensive e-commerce platforms, but because they are comprehensive e-commerce platforms with many categories, It is difficult to provide personalized services and directly help many small and medium-sized enterprises.

Wu Haoliang said that currently there are not many professional textile and clothing e-commerce platforms in China, so he hopes that by holding such activities, professional textile and clothing Internet e-commerce platforms can serve these small and medium-sized enterprises in Foshan, improve and drive them to quickly improve their e-commerce service capabilities, and Use this platform to integrate industry resources and serve the industry transformation.
