In people’s renovated new houses, carpets are widely used for their elegance, wealth, and comfortable foot feel. During use, we will find that some shortcomings of carpets give us a headache, such as being difficult to care for, inconvenient to store, etc. Here’s how to clean and maintain carpets:

1. It is best to vacuum the carpet once a week. Currently, vacuum cleaners have three suction methods: pure suction, beater rod and bristle brush rotation, all of which are suitable for carpets with tight piles; while terry For carpets, only use a vacuum cleaner with suction function.

2. Use dry cloth to remove stains. For stains caused by drinks such as coffee, cola or juice, you need to use a dry cloth or tissue paper that is readily available to absorb the water as soon as possible; then, immediately go to the kitchen to get vinegar, moisten a dry cloth and pat it on the stain. Pat gently and carefully. This way, the stain can be removed.

3. Where the legs of the furniture contact the carpet, cushions should be placed or the furniture should be moved frequently. For severely worn parts, in addition to using coverings to protect them, the positions can also be changed. Since dust easily accumulates in the surface fibers of carpets, a good way to maintain high-end carpets is to frequently use a vacuum cleaner along the wool direction to keep the carpet clean.

4. The last push when using the vacuum cleaner should be in the direction of the pile head. It is worth noting that when cleaning, never use tools with teeth or rough edges, as this will damage the surface fibers of the carpet. If lint appears on the carpet, wipe it with a clean towel soaked in hot water, comb it straight with a comb, and iron it with a damp cloth on an iron pad to restore it to its original state.

5. Add 4 cups of vinegar to 4 liters of warm water, soak it with a towel and wring it dry before wiping it. Vinegar can not only prevent carpets from discoloring or fading, but it can also eliminate pet odors (soda water also has deodorizing properties). After wiping, place it in a ventilated place to dry. Carpet Dust Removal Method When cleaning carpets, you can sprinkle some salt first, which has the function of suppressing dust from flying. Because salt can absorb dust, even the smallest dust particles can be cleaned cleanly. At the same time, it can also make the carpet more durable and keep the color bright.

6. If you accidentally spill coffee on the carpet, you can first absorb the water with a dry cloth or tissue paper, then mix equal amounts of liquor and alcohol and sprinkle it on the stain, and wipe it away with a dry cloth. If white wine is not available, vinegar will have the same effect. In view of this, if you have leftover liquor at home, you can make good use of it to keep your home clean. In addition to coffee, food stains that are easily stained, including black tea, can also be removed with the same method.

7. If you accidentally stick chewing gum to the carpet, you can first use a plastic bag filled with ice cubes and press it on top of the chewing gum to let the chewing gum solidify. Then press it with your hands to test. When the chewing gum is completely hard, use a brush or toothbrush. Pull it out and brush it thoroughly with a brush. Never use chemical thinners arbitrarily, as this will damage the carpet and cause more harm than good.

8. Mix a certain proportion of flour, refined salt and gypsum powder with water (6:1:1) into a paste, heat and cool it to make it into dry lumps, then press it into small pieces and sprinkle it on the dirty areas of the carpet. Then use a hard brush to roll it on the carpet until it turns into powder, and then use a vacuum cleaner to clean it.

Special carpet stain treatment methods:

1. Edible oil stains: Use volatile solvents such as gasoline or chlorinated carbon to remove them, and the remaining parts should be cleaned with alcohol.

2. Soy sauce stains: New stains can be removed by brushing them with cold water first, and then using detergent. Old stains can be scrubbed with warm water mixed with detergent and ammonia, and then rinsed clean.

3. Shoe oil stains: Wipe off with gasoline and alcohol, then wash with soap.

4. Urine stains: New stains can be removed by washing with warm water or 10% ammonia solution. Old stains should be washed with detergent first, and then washed with ammonia. Pure wool carpets should be washed with citric acid.

5. Fruit juice stains: Clean with 5% ammonia solution first, then wash again with neutral detergent. However, ammonia has a damaging effect on pure wool carpet fibers, so its use should be reduced. Generally, it can be cleaned with citric acid or soap, or alcohol.

In fact, the prospects for carpet stain-removing finishing agents (production sub-auxiliaries) are getting better and better now. Many manufacturers will perform a carpet anti-fouling process on carpets, thus avoiding the above various anti-fouling methods.
