▊In order to obtain the leveling effect, the following three factors must be considered when setting dyeing conditions:
① Control the dyeing speed below the leveling capacity of the dyeing device so that the dye can evenly adsorb the dyed object; ② Ensure that it is adsorbed Migration of dye;
③ Ensure the temperature and time for dye to diffuse into the fiber.
Especially in order to properly manage ①, it is very important to have information about the dyeing speed of the dyeing process used.
During dyeing, the process of dyeing the dye in the dye bath onto the fiber is divided into:
① The dye moves from the dye bath to the fiber side;
② The dye is adsorbed on the fiber surface;
③ It is adsorbed The dye diffuses into the fiber.
The rate control stage of dyeing refers to the diffusion speed of dye inside the fiber. In normal dyeing, due to the correlation between the diffusion speed and the dyeing speed, the research on the dyeing speed mainly focuses on the diffusion speed. . However, in actual production, the factors that affect the dyeing speed are not only the diffusion speed, but also have a very close relationship with the stirring of the dye bath, the absolute amount of dye adsorbed on the fiber surface, and the dyeing concentration. Therefore, the dyeing speed must be set based on the dyeing rate curve (absorption rate curve) measured in actual dyeing.
It is worth mentioning that the dyeing rate curve is generally measured based on the amount of dye actually dyed on the fiber, but in order to obtain the leveling effect, the amount of dye adsorbed on the fiber surface must also be considered.
For most dyes, the difference between the amount of dye adsorbed on the fiber surface and the amount of dye is very small, so the absorption curve and the dyeing curve (fixation curve) are very similar. Even if analysis is performed based on the dyeing curve (fixation curve), no substantial problem will arise. The absorption curve of reactive dyes and the like is completely different from the dyeing curve (fixing curve). In this case, it is very important to examine based on the absorption curve instead of the dyeing curve (fixing curve).
