Scope of application and fabric types

The applicable range of rapier loom is an important indicator reflecting the performance of the loom. Fabric type and type of warp and weft yarn, weft density adjustment range, effective width specification, shedding mechanism form (number of heald frame pages or number of jacquard needles), edge form, number of weft color colors, roll diameter, weaving beam disc diameter, etc. parameters related.
1. Type of spinning yarn or weight of fabric
Rapier looms have a wide range of adaptability. In terms of fiber types, cotton, wool, silk, linen, and chemical fibers can all be adapted; In terms of thread fineness, the general applicable range of short fibers is 7 to 96tex (80 to 6 inches), and some can reach 5 to 1166tex (120 to 0.5 inches). The filament yarn is generally 10 to 1000dtex. The machine can reach 5~5000dtex. The adaptability of the rapier loom to the types of spinning yarns is mainly related to the weft yarn, and is related to the ability of the rapier head to clamp the spinning yarn. Since the fineness of the spun yarn directly affects the weight of the fabric, the weight of the fabric can also be used to illustrate the weaving ability. The applicable range of general rapier looms is 20~800g/m2, and the weight of some special loom fabrics can reach 1000~1500g/m2.
2. Fabric varieties
Rapier looms have a particularly wide range of adaptability and have been widely used in industries such as: cotton weaving, fine woolen fabrics, woolen woolen fabrics, linen fabrics, silk weaving, various chemical fiber fabrics and Weaving of fiberglass fabrics. According to the function of fabrics, there are clothing fabrics, handicraft fabrics, decorative fabrics, and industrial fabrics. Examples of fabrics produced are as follows: indigo denim, stretch denim, silk ties, trademark fabrics, flash fabrics, double-sided fabrics (big difference in weave between front and back), twisted network industrial fabrics, linen fabrics, jacquard silk fabrics, imitation fabrics Cotton wool-like fabrics, silk-like fabrics, flat silk industrial fabrics, corduroy, yarn-dyed bed sheet fabrics, curtain fabrics, cotton linen fabrics, Drikong fabrics, woolen fabrics and pure cotton shirt fabrics (high count and high density fabrics), etc.
Various models of rapier looms have different weaving ranges, and special structures are required for weaving special fabrics.
3. The effective width of the loom
The effective width of the loom is represented by the effective width of the reed of the warp yarn. The development of rapier looms tends to be wider. At present, the effective width range of domestic rapier looms can reach 165~460cm.
4. Shedding forms
There are three types of shedding forms for rapier looms: cam (treadplate), dobby, and jacquard. The cam shedding mechanism is mostly equipped with 6 to 8-page heald frames, and the dobby shedding mechanism is mostly equipped with 24-page heald frames, 16-page and 20-page heald frames are commonly used. More complex jacquard fabrics need to adopt a jacquard opening mechanism, and 1344 needles or 2688 needles are commonly used. The number of heald frame pages or jacquard machine needles in the shedding mechanism determines the size of the fabric pattern change. Towel jacquard fabrics and decorative fabrics can reach more than 10,000 needles. Rapier looms are generally equipped with dobby shedding mechanisms, and some are equipped with jacquard shedding mechanisms. Basically It can meet the needs of various fabric tissues.
5. Weft density range
The weft density range of general fabrics is 80 to 600 wefts/10cm, tight fabrics can be as high as 1500 wefts/10cm, and loose fabrics and leno mesh fabrics can be as thin as 40 wefts/10cm .
6. Selvedge forms
Different fabrics have different requirements for selvedges. Most rapier looms can be equipped with three selvage forms: folded edge, leno twisted edge, and hot melt edge. Used for finishing edges, pure chemical fiber fabrics can use hot-melt edges, and leno twisted edges are suitable for various types of fabrics.
7. The number of rows of drop pieces in the drop frame
The number of rows of drop pieces is related to the warp density. Generally, 4 rows are used for warp density, and 6 or 8 rows are used for high-density fabrics (such as silk fabrics). Most rapier looms can meet this requirement.
8. The diameter of the weaving beam disc and the diameter of the cloth roll
These two data indicate the frequency of replacement of the weaving beam and cloth rolls. The diameter of the weaving beam side plate is generally 600~800mm, and can be up to 1200mm. The trend in the development of looms is towards large packages. The diameter of the cloth rolled on the machine is generally 300~550mm, and the diameter of the cloth rolled outside the machine can reach 1200mm.
9. The number of weft colors
Rapier looms can generally reach 1 to 8 colors, and some looms can reach up to 16 colors.
