Assume that the spinning yarn does not deform or overlap. There are many formulas for calculating the maximum density of fabrics. There are two famous formulas, namely Peirce’s theoretical formula and Brieley’s empirical formula. (1) Pierce theory calculation formula The Pierce theory calculation formula has the following assumptions: (1) The spinning yarn in the fabric has a perfect circular cross-section (uniform body). (2) When the warp and weft yarns in the fabric are closely arranged, there is no straight line segment in the cross-sectional view of the spinning yarn (assuming that the deformation shape of the spinning yarn is relatively regular). (3) Assume that the spinning yarn is -dimensional (plane). Taking plain weave fabric as an example, the relationship between the warp and weft yarns of a tightly structured fabric is:
