Here I have added the distinction between small children and large children; mainly because the requirements for ropes in children’s clothing require distinguishing between small and large children, and the concept of large and small children also exists in the clothing sizes. Age and height are two parallel conditions that need to be met.
Mandatory standards for children’s clothing
[GB 31701-2015 Technical Specifications for Safety of Textile Products for Infants and Children]
This standard serves as a basic safety technical specification for textile products for infants and children; all children’s clothing must be implemented unconditionally. This standard will be implemented on June 1, 2016, with a buffer period of 2 years. During the buffer period, children’s clothing produced before June 1, 2016 can still be used [GB 18401-2010 National Basic Safety Technical Specifications for Textile Products]; only the production certificate material needs to be ensured to cope with the need to submit certificates during industrial and commercial inspections. use. By June 1, 2018 and beyond, GB 81401 shall no longer be marked for any reason.
Infant and children’s textile products sold in my country must meet the technical requirements of GB 31701!
Product standards related to children’s clothing
● Woven ●
【FZ/T 81014 – 2008 Infant and child clothing】
“This standard applies to infant clothing and accessories produced with textile woven fabrics as the main raw material. Infant clothing products can be implemented with reference to this standard”
— Suitable for infants and young children 36 months and below, height 100cm and below.
[The testing micro platform reminds you: GB/T 33271-2016 “Woven Infant and Child Clothing” will be implemented on July 1, 2017. FZ/T 81014 – 2008 “Infant and Child Clothing” will be abolished. On January 10, 2017, the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the “Public Solicitation of Opinions on the Centralized Review Conclusions of Recommended Standards (Including Plans) for the Industrial and Communications Industry” stating that national standards such as FZ/T 81014-2008 will be abolished after completion. —–For your reference—Editor’s note】
【GB/T 31900 – 2015 Machine-woven children’s clothing】
“This standard applies to children’s clothing produced with textile woven fabrics as the main raw material”
—Applicable to children over 36 months old and 14 years old and under.
These two woven fabric standards are mainly divided according to age groups; there are no requirements for clothing styles and fabric materials; so when we cannot choose or do not want to conduct in-depth research, we can use these two standards as ” universal standard” for use.
【GB/T 2662 – 2008 Cotton Clothing】
— Applicable to clothing produced with fillings other than down.
【GB/T 14272 – 2011 Down Clothing】
—Applicable to clothing produced with down filling.
These two standards are mainly aimed at cotton-padded jackets and down jackets in winter clothing, and they are distinguished based on the filling. If the filling is down, use the standard of GB/T 14272 directly, and for everything else, use the standard of GB/T 2662.
The above four standards are basic standards and basically cover all types of children’s clothing produced from woven fabrics. If the manufacturer still wants to segment, it can also use the following standards that do not state “children’s clothing is not allowed”. Such as:
【GB/T 2660 – 2008 Shirts】
【FZ/T 81006 – 2007 Denim Clothing】
【FZ/T 81010 – 2009 Windbreaker】
【FZ/T 81007 – 2012 Single and sandwich clothing】
【FZ/T 81004 – 2012 Dress, Skirt Cover】
【GB/T 23328 – 2009 Woven school uniforms】
【FZ/T 81018 – 2014 Woven artificial leather clothing】
…….
If the above standards do not stipulate that “infant or children’s clothing is not applicable” in the scope of application of the standard, such standards can be used as children’s clothing.
● Knitting ●
【FZ/T 73025 – 2013 Knitted clothing for infants and young children】
“This standard applies to infant knitted clothing made of knitted fabrics as the main material, including underwear (covers), outerwear, pajamas, jumpsuits, pants, socks, footwear, hats, bibs, bellybands, and gloves. , sleeping bags, wraps, bedding, etc.”
— Suitable for infants and young children 36 months and below, height 100cm and below.
【FZ/T 73045 – 2013 for children’s clothing】
“This standard applies to knitted clothing made of knitted fabrics as the main material for children over 3 years old (height 100cm) and under 14 years old. This standard does not apply to knitted cotton clothing and knitted down clothing.”
— Suitable for children over 36 months and 14 years old and under. Like the standards for woven fabrics, these two standards can also be used as “universal standards”.
【GB/T 26384 – 2011 Knitted cotton clothing】
“This standard applies to cotton clothing made of knitted fabrics as the main fabric and various textile fibers as fillers”
【FZ/T 73053 – 2015 Knitted down clothing】
“This standard applies to the quality of various down garments made of knitted fabrics as the main fabric and filled with various downs. This standard does not apply to infant clothing aged 36 months and below and with a height of 100cm and below. ”
As two standards for winter clothing; knitted down clothing is not suitable for children 36 months and under; what should we do about the knitted down clothing standard for infants and young children aged 3 years and under? So let’s go back and take a look at FZ/T 73025 – 2013 Knitted clothing for infants and young children. There is no provision to exclude down clothing from the scope of application of this standard; therefore, we can choose this standard to implement knitted down clothing for infants and young children.
Similarly, the above four standards can be used as the basic standards for knitting infants and children. If you want to further subdivide, use the following standards. Such as:
【FZ/T 73043 – 2012 Knitted shirt】
【FZ/T 73032 – 2009 Knitted denim clothing】
【FZ/T 73020 – 2012 Knitted casual clothing】
【FZ/T 73026 – 2014 Knitted skirts, skirt covers】
【GB/T 22849 – 2014 Knitted T-shirts】
【GB/T 22854 – 2009 Knitted school uniforms】
【FZ/T 73010 – 2008 Knitted craft sweater】
…….
Children’s clothing standards made of wool and cashmere are:
【FZ/T 73018 – 2012 Wool knitwear】
— Requires wool content of 30% and above
【FZ/T 73005 – 2012 Low wool blended and wool-like knitwear】
— Requires wool content to be less than 30% or wool-like knitwear
【FZ/T 73009 – 2009 Cashmere Knitwear】
— Cashmere content is required to be 30% or above
Children’s clothing standards of other materials:
【FZ/T 73015 – 2009 Linen knitwear】
— Linen content of 50% and above
【FZ/T 43015 – 2011 Mulberry silk knitted clothing】
— Using mulberry silk as the main material, the content of mulberry silk is not stated
【FZ/T 73028 – 2009 Knitted artificial leather clothing】
— If the bottom structure of artificial leather is knitted fabric, you can choose this standard
Special standards:
【GB/T 26385 – 2011 Knitted patchwork garments】
“This standard applies to garments spliced together with knitted fabrics as the main fabric.”
This standard is mainly used for garments made of knitted fabrics and woven fabrics; for example, the front part of the garment is made of knitted fabric and the back part is woven fabric; or the body part is made of knitted fabric and the sleeves are made of woven fabric. Clothes with mixed spellings such as these can be labeled using this standard.
[GB/T 31888 – 2015 School uniforms for primary and secondary school students. 】
“This standard applies to clothing and accessories produced with textile fabrics as the main material and worn daily by primary and secondary school students in school”
This is the standard for school uniforms implemented on June 30, 2015; although this standard is not mandatory, it provides technical support for the purchase of school uniforms. It also ended the embarrassing situation in our country where there was no standard basis for student uniforms. The safety of school uniforms for primary and secondary school students is of great significance!
The standards for infant and children’s clothing are basically listed above. The scope of application of some standards can be reflected in their names, so some are not explained. I only explain those that are difficult for everyone to understand and that I think need to be explained. It is not very difficult to choose clothing standards. Once you understand the standards, you can make a reasonable choice. Mainly for the selection of children’s products. Some difficulties; for example, a customer needs to standardize a down glove made mainly of woven fabrics. Since most of the standards for gloves belong to the light industry industry, no corresponding standards can be found after searching. They shall not be labeled in accordance with the standards for use with sports gloves. When we have no standard selection, I can only choose a similar standard from related standards. But as the old saying goes, standards are recommended, not mandatory. Once chosen, we must produce and sell according to the quality requirements of this standard.
