1月18日，中国纺织品商业协会发布《PM2.5防护口罩》团体标准(TAJ1001-2015)，这是我国第一个正式向社会发布的可以有效防护雾霾危害的口罩标准。该标准于2016年3月1日起正式施行。

标准的不合理和标准体系的混乱问题，一方面造成了没有防护性的山寨PM2.5口罩充斥市场。另一方面，工业防尘口罩被大量误用，存在健康隐患。工业防尘口罩有着严格的佩戴条件限定，使用时间超过4小时后容易造成头晕等身体不适状况。因此，亟须制定普通民众适用的PM2.5防护口罩标准。

中国科学院城市环境研究所的郑煜铭博士介绍说，PM2.5防护口罩除了注重防护效果(高的拦截过滤效率)，也需要更良好的舒适性(低的呼吸气阻力)。另外，PM2.5防护口罩与人的口鼻直接接触，需要考虑微生物和pH值的标准，现行GB2626-2006标准对这些指标都没有提出要求。新发布的《PM2.5防护口罩》团体标准兼顾了以上要求，还将可分解的致癌芳香氨的染料纳入考核指标，要求不可检出。这些标准可以有效保障佩戴符合该标准口罩的普通群众的身体健康。
