Sportswear giant Nike has launched a new lightweight fabric that responds instantly to help the body regulate body temperature, allowing runners to feel more comfortable and perform at their best.
The research and development results of AeroReact fabric are based on the insights of Nike’s R&D team’s sports research laboratory and runners around the world. The material’s two-component yarn can sense moisture and maximize breathability by opening its structure to promote the body’s own body temperature regulation ability.
Brian Stewart, vice president of the apparel innovation group of Nike’s R&D team, said, “The apparel industry has always used the concept of layers. But how can we create a garment that can automatically adjust as the human body changes? So that when your body temperature rises when you run, , or when the weather suddenly changes, you don’t have to make adjustments yourself, the clothes will do it for you.”
AeroReact can adjust to changes in the human body and the environment, and always feels comfortable when wearing it. Nike said it spent many years developing AeroReact and perfected the fabric through extensive research, testing and experiments. Subsequently, prototypes of the fabric were tested by runners from around the world.
